Lets start with an interesting topic; Sexuality in the media. If you havent already noticed, when you turn on the TV or listen to the radio sexual content is everywhere. Although most of the innappropriate songs are *bleeped* out they are still there. For example, songs frequently played on the radio such as Make it Nasty by Tyga, or Teenage Drean by Katy Perry, and even the most popular Brittany Spears's song If You Seek Amy.
Aside from the music aspect, Television has a stronger impact on sex other than porn. Shows such as Teen Mom, movies such as the Pregnancy Pact and Pregnant at 15, also commercials exposing condoms, birth control, nueva ring, the day after pill and so much more are all over television. The majority of this sexual content is aired on channels such as Teen Nick, Adult Swim, MTV, which are not exactly directed to an older parental audience.
Another place the media hits is magazines, billboards, the internet is a major place, cell phones, video games. Have you ever noticed the new released games have a half clothed avatars as characters. Sexuality is everywhere, you may not realize it till it is pointed out. How do you all feel about sexuality? More in depth, How do you feel about sexuality benig exposed as a slander to woman?

  1. I believe women have been objectified as tool in the social media. For example, Carl's Jr ads have showed images of slender women promoting a six dollar burger. The purpose of the commercial is to attract males in the restaurant. Women have struggled to keep equality when they see propaganda such the Carl's Jr ad in the television.

  2. Constantly in the media it's clear that women are the apple of society's eye, but only if they fit the mold for what society believes is an acceptable woman. Someone who weighs just the right amount, has the smile of every perfect celebrity, and of course doesn't mind being viewed as a sex object. So of course, sexuality is going to be used by every corporation in order to reach the market of teens and young adults, hence why we constantly see these types of commercials on these channels that focus on serving the desired young adult demographic.

  3. I agree with all my followers, corporations use sex to attract consumers because it is te best way to advertise, but what they don't see is that society is developing this mentality that women are objects and always being critiqued. If not used as a tool on ads, women are used to attract the attention to males by thei appearance. Why is it that women are such attention getters? Not because we want to be, it's because the social norm is that women are constantly trying to seduce men, which is what these ads, commercials, and tv shows are exposing to their audience.
